During their trip over the icecap, the team is supported from the Netherlands by basecamp coordinator Dennis Straathof. In case of emergencies they can reach Chris de Ridder, who is their expedition doctor, with a sattelite phone.

2007 and 2008 are oficially marked as the International Polar Years. A Dutch team, Eric Schlameisen, Philip de Roo and Joep Bovens took this opportunity to organise a double crossing of the Greenland icesheet under the name of Notice Expedition. This expedition will only rely on climate neutral energy sources, the sun, wind and biofuel. The first crossing took place in the spring of 2007, the next trip will be early summer 2008. During the expedition, the team will report their progress through frequent video updates that are displalyed on this site.
